- Chazeret (non bitter vegetable)The roots of Romaine lettuce turn bitter. A representation of the fate of the Jews.
- Charoset (apple, nut, spice and wine mixture) a representation of the mortar and bricks that Jews used for Pharoh
- Zeroa (shankbone) ....Symbolizes the Paschal sacrifice on the eve of the exodus
- Beitzah (egg) represents the Holiday offering in the days of the Temple
